Dot Sowbury, a 90-year-old runner who is passionate about running , who participated in a half marathon, proved that age is no barrier to breaking records in an amazing way by eating a healthy diet. She revealed that she regularly eats liver and raw vegetables.

The American runner took part in the 2023 Chicago Lifetime Half Marathon and set a new record in history, crossing the finish line in 3:33:47 and breaking the six-year-old American record for women in the 90-94 age group. Despite being an active athlete all her life and enjoying sports like basketball, tennis and running, Grandma was unable to run. “We have great exercise classes at our retirement home, so I try to get as much exercise as I can,” says Sowbury. She starts her day with a walk or jog in her garden, where she grows fresh vegetables, and snacks on tomatoes and greens for breakfast, noting that liver and raw vegetables are two of her staple foods.

“I’m not a big fan of meat, but I try to eat a little bit of meat every day – chicken, fish, and I love liver. But my favorite vegetables are broccoli and cauliflower,” Sowbury said. “I try to avoid sweets and chips and stick to a balanced diet,” Sowbury said.
